FAQ

Can I join if I've never done pole?
Of course! Our Introduction classes are designed to welcome you to the world of pole dancing!
Do I need to be strong/flexible before starting?
Absolutely not! Classes are structured to help you build strength, flexibility, and confidence. You don't need a dance background, or any experience at all.
Do I need to wear revealing clothes to do pole?

While you are building strength as a beginner, you will find that using the skin on your arms and legs will provide grip. Wearing long pants, leggings, long t-shirts, etc, may prevent you from practicing some moves on the pole while you build up that strength

What you wear also depends on the type of class you're taking. For example, in some flow classes, you may be encouraged to wear long pants for floorwork. In these cases, you will be needing less grip on the pole as you will be focused on more choreography.

If there is any reason you need/want to have your skin covered while you are building strength, there are clothing options out there for you (such as grippy leggings and tops -- especially useful in the winter months!). We would recommend wearing those instead, as they will provide the necessary grip.

If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out; there's always solutions and we'd be happy to provide any advice or support you may need.

How many hours a week should I train?
This is entirely up to your schedule! We generally would say in the beginning while you build strength, start with one class a week and supplement with some other movements (like yoga or strength at the gym), but as you progress depending on your goals, you may want to train up to 3-4x per week
I have so many bruises after my first class, is that normal?
YES. While your skin adjusts to gripping to the pole, there will be pain and bruises. They fade quickly!
I struggle with grip/sweaty hands. What can I do?

When you start, it's totally normal! As you build strength, you will also improve your overall grip.

While you're working on your strength, there are a variety of grip options available. We recommend either MonkeyGrip or Liquid Chalk

Am I too old/too young?
Never! Do you want to start? You are welcome to join!
I have a nickel allergy, are your poles safe for me?
Please be aware we have 2 chrome poles in the studio-- we have been advised these are coated with nickel. We do have 3 black powder coated poles, which we are advised are safe for those with a nickel allergy. If you have a reaction while in the studio, please advise us immediately so we can assist.
